English as a Second Language (ESL)
English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are for students whose native language is not English and want to improve speaking, reading and writing skills.
Class placement is determined by test results at registration from beginner to advanced levels.

Upcoming ESL Registration Dates
- Registration is held throughout the school year.
- All registrations must be completed in person; please bring a valid photo ID.
- Students must be 21 years or older to register.
- Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis; allow 1–2 hours for registration.
- Classes are offered at no cost, with sessions available in the mornings, evenings, and on Saturdays.

Who can register?
Anyone at least 21 years of age looking for better employment opportunities, and a high school diploma.
If you are under 21 years of age and at least 18 years of age, and not enrolled in your local school district, please call the Adult Learning Center's Intake Office at (516) 622-5623 for further information.
What do I need to bring for registration?
A valid form of photo identification:

- DMV non-driver's license
