Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a requirement for you to enter the healthcare and culinary industries. Become versed on providing immediate medical care for adults and children. Learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of a heart attack, stroke, and choking, and receive overall training in general first aid. Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate from the American Heart Association.

This course is designed for novices looking to refine their culinary techniques and learn the ins and outs of working in a professional kitchen. You will work alongside professional chefs in a small group setting in our commercial state-of-the-art kitchens. Experience enriching activities that will develop your taste for this artistic career. The 160-hour course will focus on kitchen safety and sanitation per Nassau County Board of Health regulations. Learn the basics of what it takes to work as a line cook preparing various dishes and leave prepared for entry-level employment or above. Some of the modules are as follows:
- Kitchen Equipment
- Knife Skills, and Culinary Ingredient Usage
- Stocks, Soups, and Sauces
- Basic Meal Fabrication
- Sauté Procedures
- Basic Baking Techniques, Methods, and Terms
- Rice, Potatoes and Pastas
- Breakfast Cookery
Included in the tuition is a complete embroidered chef's uniform, chef's knife and tool kit, and textbook.
Note: OSHA-10 General Industry Safety Training and CPR Basic Life Support Training must be completed before the end of the course and are required for students to receive a certificate of completion.

The OSHA-10 course teaches entry-level employees how to recognize hazards in any work environment. OSHA recommends that you enroll in this safety certification program as an orientation to occupational safety and health for workers covered by OSHA29 CFR 1910. Workers must receive additional training, when required by OSHA standards, on the specific hazards of each job. Upon successful completion, you will receive a 10-hour General Industry Safety Certification Completion Card.
