Barbering
Adult Education CTE | Barbering courses in Long Island
Nassau BOCES Adult Education’s new Barbering Program prepares students to earn their New York State Barber License through a 500-hour certificate that qualifies graduates to take the NYS Department of Licensing written and practical exams. Students may also apply for a temporary license upon completion.
We offer convenient evening classes in our state-of-the-art facility, centrally located in Westbury, NY. Classes are held Monday–Thursday, from 6–10 p.m.

Barbering Technician
We combine classroom lessons and hands-on instruction to help students develop the professional knowledge and skills needed to obtain a barbering license:
- Shaving and facial hair design
- Haircutting and styling
- Chemical services
- Nails and manicuring
- Barbering safety and sanitation
- Barbershop management
